Sister Elizabeth’s A Heavenly Mismatch

Sister Elizabeth strolls down to breakfast in the convent one morning and encounters Sister Gillian.

“Good morning, Sister Elizabeth,” greets Sister Gillian, “it looks like you got out of the wrong side of the bed.”

Slightly puzzled but choosing not to dwell on the comment, Sister Elizabeth smiles and continues down the corridor.

Soon after, she crosses paths with Sister Julienne.

“Good morning, Sister Elizabeth,” remarks Sister Julienne, “it looks like you got out of the wrong side of the bed.”

Despite a mild sense of irritation, Sister Elizabeth offers a second smile and moves on.

Upon entering the dining room, she encounters the Mother Superior.

“Good morning, Sister Elizabeth,” states the Mother Superior, “it looks like you got out of the wrong side of the bed.”

Perplexed by the recurring comment, Sister Elizabeth finally questions, “Why does everyone keep saying that? Have I been rude to anyone?”

The Mother Superior responds, “Not at all, my dear. But you’re wearing the Bishop’s slippers.”
