HeavenlyMarriage Dilemma

On their way to get married, a young Catholic couple found themselves in a fatal car accident. As they sat outside the Pearly Gates waiting for St. Peter to process them into Heaven, they couldn’t help but wonder if they could still go through with their wedding plans in the afterlife.

Curiosity got the better of them, and when St. Peter finally arrived, they eagerly asked, “Can we get married in Heaven?”

St. Peter, looking a bit puzzled, replied, “Well, I’m not entirely sure. Let me check with the heavenly authorities and get back to you.”

The couple waited with bated breath, discussing the eternal implications of marriage in Heaven. Weeks turned into months, and the anticipation grew.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, St. Peter returned, looking a bit disheveled.

“Good news,” he announced, “You can indeed get married in Heaven!”

The couple cheered, relieved to have an answer. But then they hesitated and asked, “But what if, you know, things don’t work out? Can we get a divorce in Heaven?”

St. Peter’s expression turned from calm to exasperated as he exclaimed, “Oh, for heaven’s sake! It took me ages to find a celestial officiant up here. Finding a heavenly divorce lawyer? That’s a whole different level of celestial bureaucracy!”
