A young man asked an old rich man how he made money.
The old man touched his wool vest and said, “Well boy, the year was 1932.
The depth of the Great Depression. I was down to my last five cents.
“I invested that nickel in an apple.
I spent the whole day polishing the apple, and at the end of the day I sold the apple for a cent.
“The next morning, I invested that money in two apples,” the old man continued.
“I spent all day polishing them and sold them for two cents. I ran this system for a month and eventually saved a fortune of $1.37.”
Finally, the young man said, “What happened next?” asked.
“Then my wife’s father died and left us $2 million,” said the old man.
